National Public Radio (NPR) here in the US ran a story this morning about
the toxic legacy of Stalin's earliest bomb-making program:

On music: I'm excited by the discussion. I'm a musician myself (very
amateur, and without enough time to devote to it) - wish I could afford some
fantastic early Russian synth, but in these hard times I'll settle for the
possibilities afforded by sampling. If I record anything that seems to fit
the atompunk aesthetic, I'll make it available to the list. As for
professional musicians, it strikes me that some of Thomas Dolby's work has
the right vibe - One of Our Submarines, Europa and the Pirate Twins,
Airwaves, Dissidents, Budapest by Blimp. And check out the cover art for

Cheers,
